Around 2008 Oona and I started operating a small farm that at its height provided CSA shares to 150 families and additional produce to hundreds of market customers. We grew crops on about fifteen acres and employed six or so young people every year. Picture fifty kinds of fruits and vegetables, plus goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, pigs, a dog and two children — not all at the same time. By 2017 we had moved on to other things. I miss that work and those days in ways that often sneak up and surprise me. Below are photos from those years. I’m including them on this site for no other reason than so I can return to them easily, and to share them with whoever would like to see them.
